LETTER WRITING TIPS

1. Be informed - read from lots of different sources, be open to hearing from both sides, create your own opinions.

2. Be specific - Is there a current issue that you feel strongly about? Perhaps it affects you personally? (Coronavirus, Economy, Environment, Immigration, Foreign Affairs, Regulations, Healthcare, National Security, Personal Liberties etc.) Should the president continue or change the way he addresses this issue? How?

3. Be personal -  share a quick example of how these current day issues have impacted you or your family. Makes the letter more meaningful and makes the writer more credible.

4. Be Nice - you may choose to like, dislike or semi-like the person you're writing to, but by communicating your ideas in a respectful way, you're telling the reader that your ideas should be respected too.

5. Say thank you - good practice and a nice way to wrap up your letter.
